Both engines will increase the efficiency of these engines, will lower CO2 emissions and aid in keeping running costs lower compared to the full petrol-powered engine. The 2.5l plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine boasts a combined power output of 243 PS and up to 42 miles of pure electric driving. New Kuga PHEV drivers can take advantage of public or home charging.
 
The self-charging 2.5l hybrid engine offers the comfort and convenience of an electric powertrain and can achieve up to 900km of driving range on a single tank of fuel. This engine charges on the go, making use of regenerative braking and can seamlessly blend petrol and electric power. There are options of 180 PS front-wheel drive (FWD) or 183 PS all-wheel drive (AWD) self-charging hybrid versions.
